May 21, 2008 - You are correct to some degree, each person has their own different tastes but in general there are several common tastes shared by the majority of the population. Im not an expert but i would say approximately 70%-85% of the population has these common tastes. And of course there is the rest 15%-30% that have different or total different tastes. I respect diversity , in fact I wish there would be more diversity in tastes, life and love would be much more interesting then.

I found articles saying being heavier was a sign of higher status, but their are also other articles saying being overweight was a sign of illness and sinfulness. So apparently their there is no common consensus on this topic, at least not on the internet.

One doesn't always know when they overeat. I'm a Christian, and from what I know that's the definition. Many people couldn't read the Bible back then, and most people were illiterate, so all they knew about the Bible was what authorities told them. Your skepticism is by all means justified though.
