May 19, 2008 - did you radar the revo or guess? my computer doesnt have speakers and I never sawe a radar gun

Revomad1 Says:

May 19, 2008 - It's a mathematical guess. The stock gearing is 15/38 and it hits 45+mph with that. I'm using 20/34 gearing now, which works out to about 67mph. The street tires are a bit smaller in diameter than stock, but not by much. I am also using a more powerful engine than stock and a tined exhaust that allows for more peak RPM. The truck is also a lot lighter than stock because of the titanium upgrades. 60+mph is a fairly conservative estimate. It may hit close to 65mph.

May 19, 2008 - You posted this as a video response in one of my video, cool setup, but before saying 65mph i would test it on radar, it look like 50mph, wich is not bad, it take a lot of power to cross 60mph, you have the good tires though. I have tested a lot of car on radar and its not 60mph. Your math apply if you can reach the engine top end, but you barely hit mid to 3/4 of the rpm capability. Your gearing is a little too wide for its power. :) Keep going man, its doing good.

May 19, 2008 - Thanks for the advice. The truck is not hitting top speed in this video because it didn't have enough space. It was running a bit rich also. It was only at about 230-235. It still has plenty of power with 20/34 gearing. It breaks the tires loose when it shifts into second gear if I don't ease on the throttle. I was babying the throttle because the parking lot is covered in gravel and it just spins out when I punch it.

May 29, 2008 - hi i just got a revo 3.3 stock and put a carbon fiber chasis, everything is stock, im trying to make it goas fast it could, you think you can list the parts that will make my revo go fast like yours, im trying not to buy a different engine so list all the other parts and how fast will it go, please comment back thank you

Revomad1 Says:

May 29, 2008 - Click on "More info" to the right of the video to see the mods I am using. The THS exhaust will improve the top end of your TRX 3.3 engine. It was actually designed for that engine. It is a lot less restrictive than the stock pipe. Parts that make your Revo lighter will help with acceleration, so the carbon fiber chassis was a good choice. I am using 20/34 gearing, but I don't think the 3.3 could handle that gearing. It would accelerate very slowly.

icekillla000 Says:

May 29, 2008 - so the fastest with the 3.3 could only be 45, is there any other engine that could make the truck fast

Revomad1 Says:

May 29, 2008 - If you use street tires, you could use a 16 or 17 tooth clutch bell. That would make it faster than 45mph.

May 29, 2008 - thanks for the advice

Revomad1 Says:

May 29, 2008 - No problem!

May 29, 2008 - I need to edit some of the dead footage out of this! lol

icekillla000 Says:

May 30, 2008 - where did you get all your titanium upgrades cause i cant seem to find any

Revomad1 Says:

May 30, 2008 - I bought the turnbuckles, hinge pins and push-rods directly from Lunsford, but I think they are cheaper on Tower hobbies. I got the pivot balls and bumpers from Tower.

May 31, 2008 - I am selling this engine and pipe if anyone is interested. It's listed on Ebay.
