Mar 13, 2008 - I congratulate this young man on his efforts to use his fame for the greater good. I'm too old for his style of music, but I'm not to old to appreciate his good intentions. For his ideas to work, people have to realize that kids today need all the encouragement we can give them.

arvilino Says:
May 6, 2008 - It's better than him not doing anything at all, Kanye West is a figure that influences the younger population. True his dropping out of college was a bad influence but saying how important a good education is a good influence(who would teens listen to more: Kanye West or some Education researcher who they've never seen before spouting out a few statistics and facts.)
ourearthhome Says:
May 11, 2008 - Education is important but an educated public increases the value of land. Land is highly concentrated in ownership so the wealthy gain disproportionately from the benefit to society that an educated public brings. Schools could and should be financed out of the increased unearned value in property, i.e. land, that they confer on private owners but Americans have chosen to keep that value, engage in real estate speculation which is really land speculation and penalize young newcomers.

Mar 12, 2008 - of course he had racist tendencies, everyone does.. but this commercial and the katrina incident doesn't show that he's racist, it shows that he really cares about where he comes from and Black people.. So who cares if he reaches out to black people only..
