Germany On and Heliotrope came together at the start. Molten reared at the start. Approaching the 1000 metres Molten, which was over-racing, was awkward on the heels of Sentinal. At the 900 metres Germany On steadied when close to the heels of Fire Practice. As a result of this Ubusuku after steadying from the heels of Germany On, rolled out onto Sentinal which was then forced 3-wide. At the 600 metres Fire Practice had to be checked when awkward on the heels of Sentinal which was shifting in when going forward. Germany On then steadied to avoid the heels of Fire Practice. Jockey Hatt, rider of Sentinal, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under Rule 161 (c) and was subsequently suspended from riding in races for one race meeting. Molten was taken wide from the 300 metres. At the 100 metres Heliotrope had to be taken to the inside of Germany On to continue going forward. The Stewards questioned trainer V. Allet and jockey Currie in relation to the running of Heliotrope. Trainer Allet explained the gelding had pleased in the lead up to today's race and was expected to be competitive. Jockey Currie confirmed he worked the gelding this week and on his work he expected from an inside barrier to lead the field, however the gelding was always under pressure, failed to accelerate and was disappointing. The Stewards question jockey Whitmore in relation to his handling of Molten. He explained that before the race he hoped there would be speed in the race and he will be able to obtain a position mid-field. However, after rearing at the start, got back, he then elected to follow Sentinal which he considered the hardest to beat, then at the 1000 metres Sentinal was forced 3-wide, shortly after this the rider of Sentinal elected to go forward. He then considered the option to follow Sentinal but carrying 60 kg, he elected to stay back in the field. Then, approaching the home turn was carried out by Ubusuku and finished the race very wide on the track. After taking initial evidence, the Stewards adjourned to consider the matter.

Jul 18, 2008 - This horse will certainly become better than Tabascorez in less than two months.But this horse has never faced horses like ndabeni,jive talking,african ambassador,tabascorez,jr,world focus,rythmically.gypsey rover,villiers,centenarian,clifton king and also one for the road.But he has beaten a very good horse like Molten and also fire pactice ,ubusuku and germany on.Like villiers,centenarian,gypsey rover and century lad were the brothers of sentinal,he has a talent like them.thanks very much.

Jul 18, 2008 - This is a fantastic horse.I think that he will win ALL the classics of below 1600 m mauritius,like the barbé cup and the duke of york cup as we pronounced this race (la coupe D'OR) in mauritius.thanks for this awesome video
