Mindy Matherson-A tall, skinny, beautiful blonde with almond-brown eyes. (16 years old) Shannon Rivers-An average-heighted, thin brunette with brilliant blue eyes. (15 years old) Kristin Allivander-A short girl with light brown hair and hazel eyes. (15 years old) Author's Note: Mindy, Shannon and Kristin are best friends who have known each other since they were little. Their families are very good friends and they live in the heart of St. Louis, Missouri. It's summer vacation. Mindy is almost a junior and Shannon and Kristin are almost sophomores at John M. Torrence High School. While Mindy and Kristin are HUGE fans of the hot band The Jonas Brothers, Shannon refuses to change her mind on the fact that they are ugly, stuck-up, snotty, rich celebrities...Shannon dreams of being an actress, but her mother is convinced she won't make it, and therefore doesn't lend her support. Mindy is an incredible singer and is constantly singing her heart out, while Kristin loves to draw, and paint and is an unusually gifted pianist. Shannon Rivers: *alarm sounds. sleepily, she rolls over and turns it off* Kayleigh Rivers: (Shannon's older sister) *walking past Shannon's room* Yo! Shan! Wake up, you have to meet Mindy and Kristin at the mall in less than half an hour! Shannon: *groans* I don't want to get up. Kayleigh: Too bad. *she flips on the lights in Shannon's room* Shannon: Ugh! *throws her pillow at the door, but Kayleigh has already disappeared* *********************At the Mall*************************** *They'd been at the mall for two and a half hours* (Mindy, Shannon and Kristin are scoping out hot guys) Mindy Matherson: Ooh! Check out blonde surfer over there. Not bad! Kristin Allivander: *looks to where Mindy was pointing* Ooh, ow ow! Shannon: *laughs* Wow, guys. Mindy: You know, blonde surfer dude is hot, but he's just not the one for me. I'm already taken by Joseph Adam Jonas. Shannon: *rolls her eyes* In your dreams. Kristin: Oh shut up, Shannon! You know they're hot! Mindy: You just don't wanna admit it. But one day, when Joe and I are married and Nick and Kristin are married, you're gonna have to live with them. Shannon: *rolls her eyes again and sighs in exasperation* They are NOT that hot! And why in the world would you want to date or marry someone like them? You don't even know them! They're probably like any other decent celebrity out there-conceited, rude, snotty, and too rich for their own good. And face it-The Jonas Brothers don't have any talent at all! Kristin and Mindy: *gasp and stare at Shannon in horror* Kristin: How could you say that?!? Shannon: Because I could, now get over it! Mindy: *shakes her head disapprovingly* Well one day you're gonna have to wake up, sister. They are amazing people with tons of talent! Have you ever heard them sing? Shannon: *rolls her eyes* Kristin: They write their own music, play their own instruments, th- Shannon: Kristin, they're just some dumb boy band! You guys are wayy too obsessed! Kristin: 'Wayy too obsessed'?! Mindy: 'Some dumb boy band'?! Shannon: I'm gonna go get some Starbucks. *She quickly gets up from the table they had been sitting at and makes her way over to the Starbucks store that was inside the Riverdale mall* (Thinking) Good lord. *After she orders and is handed her grande double chocolate frappucino, she is walking out of the Starbucks when her cell phone rings* Hello? Tom Rivers: (Shannon's dad) Hey Shannon! How are you? Shannon: Oh, hey dad! I'm good, how are you? Tom: I'm great, thanks! You still need me to pick you up, right? Shannon: Yeah. Tom: Alright, well I can pick you up now, but I just got called down to see some patients at The Scottrade Center, so you're going to need to come with me. Is that ok? *A/N- The Scottrade Center is a hockey arena in Saint Louis that is transformed into a concert arena a lot of times. Tom Rivers is a doctor that works with a producer that calls him down a lot to see celebrities when they come into town on concert tours.* Shannon: Oh, yeah, that's fine. Tom: Alright, see you in a little bit. Shannon: Bye. *She hangs up, takes a sip of her frappucino, and makes her way back over to Kristin and Mindy* Hey guys, my dad's picking me up now, so I'll see you later? Kristin and Mindy: Kay', bye Shan! *Each stands up and hugs her* Shannon: Bye! **************************In the car************************** *Shannon and her dad had talked the whole ride about the Cardinals (St. Louis baseball team) and how they'd been doing that season. After twenty minutes, they were pulling into the parking lot of the Scottrade center) Shannon: So who are you going to see anyways? *Takes a sip of her frappucino* Tom: Some band called The Jonas Brothers. Shannon: *spits out her frappucino* WHAT?!? Tom: Shannon! Shannon: I'm sorry! *quickly starts cleaning up the frappucino she had spit all over the car.*
