Stanford Prison Experiment: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1KXy8CLqgk4 Though I cite certain types of group in this video what I say would apply to ALL groups, of whatever nature. To associate too strongly with one set of people without considering the facts of that which lies beyond it will inevitably lead to groupthink and thus inaccuracy. Apologies for the rather strange nature of the visuals on here, not sure what happened. lol

May 9, 2008 - It is very subtle, and it takes courage to dare to see the difference, especially if one happens to be caught up in ego oneself.

Loreleila Says:

May 9, 2008 - I agree in essence. There is the tendency to protect our children from reality in the hope it won't touch them, rather than inform and educate, then we expect them to cope in a world they don't understand and make choices when they've never been taught how to make them.

Loreleila Says:

May 9, 2008 - Thanks. :)I think daring to stay awake, to listen to others, realise they probably have a valid point of view which it is worth daring to hear, yet continuing to think for oneself is a fair balance, or something along those lines at least. Peace to you too.

Mork5 Says:

May 9, 2008 - now i checked *subtle* in my dictionary and realized that it indeed has additional meanings to the german *subtil* so maybe my bad english blocked me once again. expieriencing the true self i can hardly talk about because it's exactly where words do not reach, opposite to the ego everyone knows and presumes and which is so entangled in language that it appears to me (?) as the opposite to being awaken/aware.

Mork5 Says:

May 9, 2008 - i'm really interested in how you managed to integrate yourself so well that the difference became subtle. i've not seen many of your vids yet but if you made one about this maybe you point me there ? i totally suck at self-integration and new perspectives would be much appreciated. of course every spiritual makes her/his own path but in terms of global thinking we could enhance exchanging, no ?

May 9, 2008 - the group business is surely instinctive and will therefore overide individual thought and the prison officers that,s brutilisation the military use that all the time to make soldiers more efficient at killing i read in the paper about a cyclist who was knocked down by a hit and run, apparently the other motorists just drove past and left him to die...that seems like a case of people simply not caring

May 9, 2008 - I think I understand what you are trying to explain to Jim here. It sounds very much like me.

May 9, 2008 - Group thinkers have tunnel vision, they don't venture outside their beliefs, don't integrate beyond their safe community of indoctrinated principles, we are all part of some group, connected by colour, race, creed, social standing, finacial status etc. Races, people differ, groups are increasing, uniting to form strength. The division is ever more apparent, watch and see it get worse, communities are already divided, look at the way demographics are shifting. World Central Domination will sort it!

scotty2trucks Says:

May 9, 2008 - This 'Good Samaritan' angle dosen't work in today's society. I once went to the aid of a woman being beaten senseless by her partner, put the fellow in a 'Horizontal' posture, the woman went crazy, screaming blue murder,it's no wonder we turn a blind eye.

Loreleila Says:

May 9, 2008 - I know I don't know you all that well, but I'd tend to agree with you. :)

Loreleila Says:

May 9, 2008 - It is incredibly difficult to find words that even begin to describe this, I agree. I've spent many years trying to find ways to express some of these concepts well and I can still struggle.

Loreleila Says:

May 9, 2008 - I haven't made a video on that specifically, though I was thinking about scratching the surface in one very soon. 'of course every spiritual makes her/his own path but in terms of global thinking we could enhance exchanging, no ?' Totally. I welcome it.

Loreleila Says:

May 9, 2008 - It is instinctive, but not terribly helpful. I think people sometimes don't care, can be fearful of getting noticed, standing out, being different, getting judged etc. To behave differently means you need to dare to stand out, and to know it's dangerous to make any assumptions.

Loreleila Says:

May 9, 2008 - Amazing. Chickens are more couragous than humans. A wonderful irony considering the phrase. Calling someone chicken now takes on a whole new meaning. Maybe calling them human would be a bigger insult.

Loreleila Says:

May 9, 2008 - I wish it were so simple to change. I'm honestly not sure how one might go about really changing it fully. You have to dare to both belong to the whole thing yet be an individual all at once, which is something of an art. Not one I think I've fully mastered. Can enjoy refining it though. :)

Loreleila Says:

May 9, 2008 - Oh dear. I think there's a special dynamic in 'domestics' A bit like brother and sister tearing lumps out of each other but if anyone else dares the sibling will be down on them like a ton of bricks.

lapislazuline Says:

May 10, 2008 - in that case i,m gonna hide...no..no i,m not that just wouldn,t do at all..being sentient can be such a drag! ;)

Loreleila Says:

May 10, 2008 - Can't it just.

mistersyvak Says:

May 12, 2008 - This was f***in brilliant. You might find this posted somewhere else too. Hint. Hint. Cloaked group lingo. lol

Loreleila Says:

May 12, 2008 - Rofl! There's a perfection in that somewhere. :)
