This is my first hank drum that I have made. It is (fairly) in tune with itself in a somewhat Indian take on the pentatonic scale. I used Dennis Havlena's plan that can be found at http://www.ehhs.cmich.edu/~dhavlena/f... for the template and instructions. And for a quick tutorial (which is of immense help if you are a visual person, like myself) see Chris the carpenter's vid at http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=UNPksrg... for a great vid on how to make it. Please excuse my poor percusion skills... The mallets are made of a 1" rubber ball drilled through, on a chopstick. Works pretty well!
