CHEN: An evening gown dripping with diamonds is to be auctioned off for charity in Cannes. The dress is valued at over one million dollars. Here's a look at the story. STORY: The lilac-colored dress is designed by Italian designer Alberta Ferretti with diamonds and other jewelry donated by Swiss jewelers Chopard. The glittering gown will be auctioned off at the annual amfAR gala in Cannes, France. This year the show has such famous celebrities as Madonna, Sharon Stone and Michelle Yeoh co-chairing the event to raise money for AIDS research. The million dollar dress was unveiled on Thursday night at a glamorous soirée on the Croisette. Many famous stars could be seen at the event such as Academy-Award winning actress Cate Blanchett, actress-turned-rock star Juliette Lewis and California-born model Devon Aoki. Everyone agreed that the dress, worn by model Bar Rafaeli, was a beautiful sight. [Bar Rafaeli, Model]: "It's worth a million dollars and I definitely feel like ten million dollars. Yes it's also for a good cause. It's going to be auctioned. It's by Alberta Ferretti with Chopard diamonds and stones. They are going to auction it at the amfAR dinner and I hope it's going to raise a lot of money." The amfAR gala will take place on Thursday, May 22.
