Jul 25, 2008 - whilst watching this it looked like gasquet was at a higher hitting level than murray his groudstrokes just had more penetration, all of murray shots looked tame compared to gasquets, gasquets looked like it had more topspin and pace and fluidity. i think if gasquet had gone through he would of given nadal a run for his money.

Jul 25, 2008 - if you gave me gasquet on a video game he would be unstoppable. his talent is top 5 atleast. he's even more dissappointing than safin in terms of underachieving because safin's already won a couple of slams and been #1. also when he stands far back behind the baseline he's useless and the difference is very noticeable, as he plays very well here, he definitely should have won this match. i think he burnt out most of his winners by the third and afterwards was on the backfoot.

Jul 27, 2008 - there is a reason why Gasquet has won on ALL surfaces unlike Murray.If he could only work on his forehand a tad more and bulk up he'd make a lot more semis and why not finals. As for him winning W;he's won titles on grass and made the semis at W beating Roddick last year just proof that he can win on grass

Aug 3, 2008 - To beat Roddick is not really a proof that he can win Wimbledon considering how much Andy sucked in the last 2 years. I'm more basing on things like how well he plays on grass and how much he seems to like to play there. His weaknesses(stamina,forehand) are also much less apparent in grass than in other surfaces

Aug 7, 2008 - someday? I would love for him to win someday to, but as others have pointed out Gasquet is young now so surely he should be at the peak of his career, and winning such as Nadal. He will need to up his game quickly and a lot more, before he gets older, if he has a chance of winning. But his backhand does prove he has majr potential.
