After seeing a website of mocks called Afternoon Programmes Follow Shortly (APFS), and researching about television in the former USSR, this idea came to my mind. And finally, this became a reality. This is my impression of the ident used by the USSR main central TV channel until color broadcasts began in 1967. A bit of history now... Television in the USSR launched in 1938 in Moscow, and shortly after in Leningrad (now St. Petersburg, Russia). Telecasts were suspended during World War II (in which Germany attacked the USSR), but resumed in Dencember 1945. In 1951 a central TV service was launched - the USSR Gosteleradio. Its services were the following: Radio: All Union First Programme - main channel Radio Moyak - music and liturature Third Programme - Pop music Radio Moscow - external service Radio Station Peace And Progress - external service Television First Programme - main channel All Union Programme - second channel Moscow Programme - third channel (but oriented at Moscow) Fourth Programme - fourth channel As for this ident, it begin with a form-up on the station's logo- the Sparsskaya Tower. Sorry if my drawing of it is poor. And also because that I cannot make animations, so this is the result. The station's name would then appear. It means ("FIRST PROGRAMME OF THE USSR GOSTELERADIO".) The announcer would then say in Russian "This is the First Programme of the USSR Gosteleradio", but this is a clean version of the ident (because I don't have a microphone to record my Russian speaking voice with my native accent). Anyway enjoy :)
