Take a look at my other entertaining videos!http://www.youtube.com/user/BluestFlamingo Also, my vlogging channel: http://www.youtube.com/user/TheBlueFlamingo There is a ridiculous urban legend going around, stating that an actor playing a Munchkin hung himself during the filming of the Wizard of Oz. The alleged hanging took place on the set, with the cameras rolling and the suicide was supposedly caught on film. For years people have debated this topic. Here on You Tube, however, the debate seems to be both camps showing the same ten seconds of film and claiming this is proof for their side. These videos prove nothing as the people that believe they can see a munchkin hanging continue to see it and those that believe it is not a munchkin continue to see what they believe it is. The story of the munchkin is false and in this video I present a number of facts to make my case. I realize there are a number of gullible fools that are going to continue to believe in this. To hell with them. If you have a few functioning brain cells and an IQ larger than your shoe size, you can figure out that no munchkins, or anyone, were hung during the filming of the Wizard of Oz. And if you do not believe the facts I present here... do some research yourself and learn a little history of the movie. If I am wrong, however, prove it with facts. If someone truly commited suicide on the set of a major motion picture in a major studio in front of dozens of people... it should be easy to prove. There should be plenty of news articles, books, interviews and so on that give the facts. The music in the video is "Over the Hiccups" by Negativeland

Jul 23, 2008 - BRAVO!!

WhatsAYak Says:

Jul 23, 2008 - Very well said...hell, a statement like that would make for a good follow-up video! LOL

MissDisneyWorld Says:

Jul 24, 2008 - please take the time to at least WATCH the original. it is VERY obviously not the same. A munchkin...maybe not. but it's not the same.

Jul 24, 2008 - Indeed, Heath Ledger's death probably bolstered this film's draw. The last great hurrah of a young actor who was still rather too fresh to expect it was his last hurrah. It wasn't a suicide, just a accidential overdose. It happens to the regular joe and the famous; we just remember more when it's the famous. However, had he not died, it is still a great film and probably a great performance. Not like Bale, Caine, Nolan, Gyllenhaal, Eckhart, and Oldman were duds without Ledger.

Jul 24, 2008 - A name and obituary can be covered up, but not for this long. Louis B. Mayer had an enormous amount of power and money in the movie world. However, I doubt that definate facts (name, date, cause of death, place of death, etc.) would be kept quiet about something like this for so long.

Jul 24, 2008 - I'm sorry - I was talking about the music in this video! I don't get your point?

asustud05 Says:

Jul 24, 2008 - This would have been much better if that annoying fucking kid wasn't singing in the back

itsxrayrayxbeotch Says:

Jul 24, 2008 - when i was little, not knowing the whole suicide thing, this scene did always creep the hell out of me

BluestFlamingo Says:

Jul 24, 2008 - Why bother? If you can't tell your "storie" here, it's not worth the effort. Feel free to post any proof you have here. Yeah, I don't want more "stories". I want some solid proof. An obituary, a newspaper article, etc. If you can't provide those things, forget it.

BluestFlamingo Says:

Jul 25, 2008 - I think you're right. I think there's also the "I can't be wrong" factor. Either they would be embarrassed to know they have been wrong or they believe it so strongly that they can't comprehend they are wrong.

BluestFlamingo Says:

Jul 25, 2008 - There are trees, certainly, but what I'm getting at is that this little thing (the wing tip) that moves and people seem to think it's a dead body is so small that if it were a person it would have to be quite a ways a way and it can't be that far because there's a wall there. So, I assume that people think it's hanging on one of those trees in the background, not realizing it's a painting.

BluestFlamingo Says:

Jul 25, 2008 - You're welcome!

BluestFlamingo Says:

Jul 25, 2008 - *bows*

BluestFlamingo Says:

Jul 25, 2008 - No one that talks about the "original" seems to be able to provide me a copy to watch, including you. This is because there is only one version. No book or documentary talks about making two versions or why a second version would even need to be made. It's just another dumb hoax.

BluestFlamingo Says:

Jul 25, 2008 - Oh. Doesn't your volume control work?

NerdiiTamii Says:

Jul 25, 2008 - That was really informing, good jobb. I was for sure it really was a person for a second, but thankss, it all makes sense noww. I thought it was just some prank the directors and producers were playing or something lol...yeahh, thanks for posting thiss=)

SuperKawaiiPandaGirl Says:

Jul 25, 2008 - Mission accomplished, BluestFlamingo. I believe that no Munchkins were harmed in the making of this movie. Who made up this rumor anyway? Someone with a lot of time on their hands apparantely.

SuperKawaiiPandaGirl Says:

Jul 25, 2008 - BRAVO! BluestFlamingo and WhatsaYak actually have common sense! Way to go! Seriously. You have to be very gullible to believe this.

allanimeloverxoxo Says:

Jul 26, 2008 - Thank you!!!!!!!!!! somebody actually has some common sense about this rumor!! Finally there are some ppl who agree with me!!!!!

BluestFlamingo Says:

Jul 26, 2008 - Thank you and you're welcome!

BluestFlamingo Says:

Jul 26, 2008 - Oh, I've ageeed with you for years. You just didn't know it. *grin*

BluestFlamingo Says:

Jul 26, 2008 - Yeah, I'm glad old Yakky hangs around here so much. He has some excellent comments. Of course, now he probably won't come back because I called him "Yakky".

BluestFlamingo Says:

Jul 26, 2008 - I have read that the rumor started in 1989 around the time the 50th anniversary edition came out. I have no idea who started the rumor though.

h0tsaucce Says:
