In a strict definition, a firearm must have at least the following characteristics to be considered an assault rifle * A carbine sized individual weapon with provision to fire from the shoulder. * Capable of selective fire.

None of the guns you buy at a gun shop have select-fire and you would need lots of hard to find parts plus Knowledge OF GUNSMITH to make 1 work , Most criminals don't have the time or money to bother plus they rather use small and easy to find and hide hanguns!.

Imagine if the Department of Transportation was run entirely by life-long pedestrians, or the Department of the Treasury run by broke crackheads (well, I guess that last one wouldn't make much difference.) People who don't know anything about guns shouldn't be allowed to tell us what kind of guns we can have.

May 3, 2008 - Never understood why revolving shotguns are considered Destructive Devices. What is it besides a short barreled semi with a shitload of shell capacity? I'm referring to the streetsweeper, although the Destructive Device things covers revolvers that use shotgun rounds.
