*Michael leans in and kisses her, closing his eyes. In that moment, Alex mind was full of different thoughts. She felt everything was gonna be ok if she stayed with him. But at the same time she felt she was kissing Joe and thought THAT was what made it so right. That's when she realized. It was Joe the one she loved. Not Michael. Michael had overreacted and apologized, yes, but that didn't mean he wasn't like that. He had done it twice and she knew he could do it again. All this went through her mind in a matter of microseconds. So she pushes him away but in a kinda soft way. Looking into his beautiful blue eyes as he waved his messy and shining brown hair off his face, Alex pushes away all her crazy thoughts* Alex: What was that for Michael: I'm ... sorry... I shouldn't have done that... Alex: yeah.. you shouldn't... Michael its been almost two months already... I thought I still had feelings for you.. but I cant be with you... I'm with Joe... Michael: but.. don't you think you're being a little unfair to him if you still have feelings for me? Alex: I don't... I thought I did... but I guess I was just reminiscing. Michael: oh... I'm sorry... I really am... Alex: just... ugh... *starts to leave* Michael: wait! Alex! Alex: what? Michael: can we at least be friends? I don't think that a stupid breakup should ruin our friendship... we've been together for a year and just not seeing you from one day to the other depresses the hell out of me... Alex: I guess we can be friends... but just friends Michael... I don't want you to get any wrong ideas... Michael: don't worry... I might be a little out of control sometimes... but I'm not stupid Alex: I know you're not.. bye Michael... Michael: bye... *Alex leaves and looks for Joe* Alex: Joe? Joe! *thinking* shoot... he must have seen us... ugh.. this is soo typical... *goes around looking for him. She walks past a glass door that lead to the balcony and sees Joe standing there, looking out the balcony, relying on the marble railing. She sighs, walks up to him, slowly and silently, because she knew he had seen the kiss* Alex: Joe? You ok? Joe: *without looking at her. she notices he's all teary. His voice is shaking and he kinda laughs to hide it* you know... I made you dance with him cuz I figured you would be happy... and I would be happy for you... but I didn't realize how miserable it could make me... Alex: *relays on the railing too and trying to catch his eye* so I'm guessing you saw... Joe: *turns to look at her. His eyes are red and teary. She had never seen him so crushed* yeah I saw the kiss... and I really can't believe it... Alex: you didn't see me push him away did you? Joe: *looks down and closes his eyes letting a single tear fall on the railing* no... I missed that part unfortunately... Alex: *moves closer to him* well... I did... almost instantly... it's slow reaction... and when it happened I had lots of stuff going through my mind... Joe: He kissed you Alex... that's all I know... Alex: why did you make us dance together in the first place Joe: I noticed you were looking at him... you still have feelings for him... Alex: no... to tell you the truth... cuz I really don't wanna lie to you... for a second I thought I did... but as soon as he kissed me... it was you who took over my mind... *she gets teary. Looks down and bites her lip as a tear runs down her cheek. She lays her forehead on his shoulder, with her eyes shut, her voice shaking* you're the one I want to be with, Joe... even if you don't want me anymore... Joe: *still facing down with his eyes closed* I do want you... *looks up at her. his eyes were shining like they had never done before. He was so gorgeous. That look in his eyes felt like a stabbing knife in Alex's heart. How could she possible think she still loved Michael? That person in front of her... that was the one she wanted to spend the rest of her life with... no one else* more than anything... Alex: can you forgive me? Joe: *smiles. Looks deeply in her hazel eyes and dries his own tears with his hand* for what? For being so cute everyone wants you? Alex: *giggles* Joe... *quietly* I love you... Joe: *shocked* uhh... really? Alex: *frowns. Talks with sarcasm* no, I'm kidding... I mean it Joe... I havent been more serious about anything in my whole life... Joe: say it again... Alex: *smiles* I love you... Joe: I love you too *He pulls her into a hug. they are holding each other tightly, for a while. Then Joe kisses her on the lips. They made the kiss last for a long time. Everything was perfect*
